Our Mission & Vision
Who are we?
Dolan Hotels is a family owned and family run company. Our mission is to make people happy and be cherished contributors to, and members of the Jersey community.
We do this by offering affordable luxury that will leave you planning your next holiday or meal with us before your current one has even ended, with a promise that your indulgence will be impact-light and also go to helping raise funds for local causes.
We’re specialists in unforgettable experiences through excellent quality, and friendly, personal service in stunning locations with the goal that our guests, over time, become our friends and come back to see us every year.
We contribute to the island by acting in an honest, decent, responsible and ethical way, reducing our impact on the local environment and embracing opportunities to give back to the local community in as many ways as possible.
In short, we are not an over-formal, stuffy hotel, bar & restaurant company. We are about great quality, at a reasonable price served by someone friendly who loves their job and cares about making you happy, delivered in a way that gives back to Jersey.
We do so through the following core brand and community values and promises:
Our core brand values and promises
Quality
We believe there is no detail too small and want you to see instantly that we have invested the time, money and effort to offer something above average in everything that we do.
This means that from the moment you see an advert to the moment we help you load your bags, whether the linen on your bed, the bacon in your breakfast, the service you receive or the pen you use to sign you bill, we promise to deliver a high-quality experience along every step of your journey.
Integrity
Price:
We promise to charge a fair market price for the quality of products and services offered and aim to have you leaving feeling a sense of value for money and fairness that makes you want to return.
The team:
We care about our team and promise to treat them with the respect, fairness, and equality that they deserve. This means that we promise to offer them a fair schedule, pay and benefits package for their level of seniority and experience and strive to ensure that they feel valued and happy in their work.
We also promise to offer opportunities to learn, develop their skills and reach their full potential.
Personality
We’re a family company and we believe that excellent service is as much about the person as the processes.
We employ people who care about their trade and get a kick out of giving good service – not just robots responding to programming. In this, we encourage our teams to let their own personalities shine through. We also urge our teams to make every reasonable effort to tailor your holiday to your needs and not our convenience to create a warm experience unique to you.
As leisure hotels we are in the business of providing fun so we also believe that everything we do should be fun too. In that we try and create products that are interesting, informative and take into account the rich and unique character the surrounding area has to offer.

Go Green & Skip The Clean - Jersey Trees for Life
In 2025 we were also proud to launch our “go green and skip the clean” initiative, whereby if guests choose not to have their rooms cleaned and towels replaced at any point during their stay (thereby reducing the amount of chemicals being used and finding their way into the water system), we will make a contribution to Jersey Trees for Life who plant trees and hedgerows across the island, providing the idea environment for wildlife to flourish and protecting Jersey’s stunning natural beauty.
In 2025 we raised £3000 for the planting and maintenance of 3 mature trees that were selected for their suitability in this harsh marine landscape. We hope to follow on from this in 2026, and increase our donation if possible!
Contributions to date are:
2025
- £3000 donation
- Trees planted in Millbrook park
2026

Coffee & Chapters - Every Child Our Future
In May 2026, in each of our hotels, bars and restaurants, we will contribute 10p per tea, coffee or hot chocolate sold to “Every Child Our Future” which aims to improve educational opportunities for local children.
Pop on down to any of our establishments this May and your warming beverage will feel a little bit more rewarding this year!
Environmental Sustainability
We recognise the impact that travel and tourism has on the environment and promise to do everything we can to provide a sustainable and eco-friendly experience by reducing our impact on the environment along every step of your journey.
This means the following:
Environmental waste
Single use Plastics – We aim to reduce and eliminate our use of single use plastics and recycle or put them to good use wherever possible using the Jersey waste energy program. We have also eliminated single use plastics with the following initiatives:
- Introduction of eco pump cosmetics in every room and abolition of small, single use cosmetic bottles in the rooms as a standard. (although these products are available on request from reception should guests prefer them)
- Introduction of refillable glass bottles to replace plastic bottles in the bedrooms.
- Abolition of plastic stirrers and straws in all of our bars and restaurants.
Paper – we aim to reduce our reliance on paper every step of your journey by investing in the best electronic systems for the following processes:
- Restaurant & room reservations
- Check-in
- Restaurant and produce ordering
- Billing, payroll & accounting systems
- Paperless internal meetings
Food waste – to run as efficiently as possible and ensure a minimum amount of food waste, we invest significant amount of time and effort in careful costing, ordering and stock management systems. This means our waste food is kept to an absolute minimum.
Glass waste – To reduce the amount of glass waste we have, we have switched our bottled water to a triple filtered Purezza water system in all our hotels. This alone has reduced our glass waste by around 1000 of bottles a week (high reason estimate), thereby reducing the amount of trips to bring it to the island, from our suppliers to the hotels and to waste facilities. Glass is Jersey is partially recycled to create aggregate for the building trade, so in any case your bottle of wine doesn’t end up in the harbour!
Chemicals – Chemicals are necessary in order to keep our high level of cleaning and sanitisation and are largely unavoidable. Along with our supplier Mercury Distribution we have chosen Diversey for their emphases on environmental responsibility and their range of biodegradable, low environmental impact cleaning and sanitisation products. Fossil fuels & energy consumption
Jersey electricity supply – Electricity in Jersey is provided by the French national grid which in our area is primarily low carbon in the form of wind and nuclear power
Gas stoves to induction – we have converted our gas stoves to induction throughout and commit to upgrading our fossil fuel systems to induction as soon as the local infrastructure allows us to.
Oil boilers to electric – we have converted our oil fired heating to electric where possible and commit to upgrading our oil systems to electric as soon as the local infrastructure and technology allows us to do so.
LED bulbs – we have changed every bulb in the business to LED to reduce energy consumption as much as possible.
Environmental sustainability in food & farming
We favour local produce wherever possible, producing menus based on what is available seasonally to reduce the reliance on importing produce from abroad.
We use free range and corn-fed or grass-fed Jersey and British meats wherever possible, vetting suppliers for the highest levels of quality and animal welfare.
In order to maintain fish stocks and keep our ocean wildlife plentiful, we choose sustainably sourced fish that have the natural ecosystem in mind by choosing hand-dived or farmed scallops or line caught or sustainably and ethically farmed fish wherever possible.
