If you do decide to venture away from the beach there are plenty of things to do and see around the area. The historic St Brelade’s church and Fisherman’s Chapel is tucked away at the western side of the bay and towards the east is Ouaisne bay, a beautiful part of the island for walking.
Enjoy the vast expanse of St Ouen’s bay – only a short distance by car or on the bus route from outside the hotel.
There are golf courses nearby; Les Ormes and Les Mielles are open to the public. Les Quennevais sports centre offers swimming and gym facilities.
Another wonderful stay
Another wonderful stay at Golden Sands. This was my second visit and it was just as wonderful as I remembered. It’s classic, has a relaxed atmosphere and has a real charm to it.
The location is absolutely perfect, right on the beach with the most beautiful views. The bay has some great restaurants (including the one in the hotel) so there are plenty of places to eat and drink. Breakfast every morning was fresh and plentiful. Whether we went down at 7am or 9.55am – the availability, quality and freshness was the same.
The hotel is spotlessly clean and well presented but the jewel in the crown are the staff. They honestly couldn’t do enough for you! So friendly and welcoming and really went above and beyond for everything and anything.
Definitely recommend paying the extra for a sea view room, it really is worth it.
Can’t wait to return next year and wouldn’t stay anywhere else.
