Day Porter

We are looking for a Day Porter to assist housekeeping department, in maintaining high standards within the bedroom areas. To carry luggage for guests, both on arrival and departure, and other general duties to include cleaning, maintenance and assistance in the Food and Beverage departments.

Job Purpose:

To assist housekeeping department, in maintaining high standards within the bedroom areas. To carry luggage for guests, both on arrival and departure, and other general duties to include cleaning, maintenance and assistance in the Food and Beverage departments.

Duties:

To keep corridors clean and tidy by returning room service trays to the kitchen and any other items as required

To assist the Housekeeper in taking linen to each floor when delivered

To aid the Housekeeper with room changes, extra beds, cots etc

Replace any blown light bulbs around the hotel and carry out any other light maintenance duties

To clean all ground floor and bedroom balconies and balcony furniture on a daily basis

To clean all bathroom fans on a rotation basis

To deal or assist with any deliveries when required

To ensure that all public areas and venues are clean and presentable at all times

To welcome guests on arrival and carry luggage from vehicles or coach

To assist with check-in and check-out of groups and holding their luggage

To be aware of hotel services, island attractions and local facilities and provide any information that reception has not already covered on check in

To show guests to the room/s and instruct on use of telephone, televisions, lights etc. and ensure they are happy with the facilities

To inform the Receptionist or Duty Manager and keep a record of any guest complaint

To assist the restaurant during breakfast service and also the bar during lunch or afternoon tea when required

Always look smart wearing the correct uniform and be friendly and welcoming at all times

To ensure adherence to the companies Health and Safety procedures and maintain these throughout the department
